To drive away the giant Dandarabochi that is ravaging the village, people float straw sandals the size of a tatami mat out to sea, praying for safety at sea and a good catch. A parade of portable shrines and dancers takes place in the town, and a fireworks display is held at night. It is held every year on the day of the monkey in September.
