Explanatory text
Shitennoji Temple, officially called Toseizan Shitennoji, is the head temple of the Soto sect. In the cemetery within the temple grounds, there are gravestones of Nobunaga's birth mother, TakatoraTodo, and Todo Takatora's wife, Kuboin. Most of the temple was burned down in the war damage of 1945, but the mountain gate (from the early Edo period) is the only thing that remains, evoking the past.
