Explanatory text

Thousands of lanterns float above the Tado Shrine at dusk. The lights create a solemn, mysterious and fantastical atmosphere that is a seasonal feature of summer at TadoTaishaShrine. This festival is held to grant wishes entrusted to the numerous lanterns, and also to pray for visitors to have a peaceful hot summer. On the day, various events are held, including character shows and bingo games that are popular with children.
