Explanatory text

Suzuka ink, which has developed into one of the two largest production areas in Japan alongside Nara ink, and Ise Katagami paper, which is used to dye patterns and designs such as Yuzen and Komon, are traditional industries that SuzukaCity is proud of nationwide. At the Traditional Industry Hall, traditional craftsmen hold demonstrations of Ise Katagami carving and Suzuka ink making twice a day on the second Sunday of every month, from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:00. You can also experience carving a bookmark made from Ise Katagami (free of charge, but paid for groups of 10 or more).
