Explanatory text

The world-famous director OzuYasujiro spent around 10 years of his impressionable youth in Matsusaka and Iitaka. As the area had an impact on the director's life, a separate memorial museum was opened on December 12, 2002. The exterior is modeled after a movie theater from the Taisho to early Showa periods, and the interior features a Taisho-era-style living room, video room, and memorial hall. An introductory video about the director is shown, and photographs and panels of his representative works are on display.
