Explanatory text

It is known as a strange festival and is said to be the noisiest festival in Japan. The sounds of bells and drums from the nearly 40 festival floats continue for three nights, making it an incredibly heroic festival. It is held every year on the first Sunday of August and the day before. It was designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan in 2007.
