The exhibits also include ancient documents related to the Aisu clan, loyal retainers of the Southern Court who made their home at the site of Gokasho Castle (a prefectural designated cultural property), and their descendant, Aisu Ikousai Hisatada, who is revered as the founder of swordsmanship by kendo practitioners around the country, as well as archaeological and folk materials from the town.
