IseCity

Explanatory text

It was built in 1887 as a place to rest and stay for distinguished guests visiting IseJingu. It operated as an annex to the Futamikan Inn until 1999. After Futamikan closed, it became the Futami Town Historical Museum in November 2003, and was registered as a tangible cultural property designated by the prefecture in March 2004. You can see traditional Japanese architecture, including not only the building but also the garden, with its elegant design by leading architects of the time, the carefully selected materials, and the craftsmanship of the artisans who responded to them.
