Explanatory text

The group, which travels around Western Japan throughout the year, gathers at Masuda Shrine in Tayu on the afternoon of December 24th every year to dedicate all of their songs. The acrobatic performances of the lion dance and hōga, performed by the well-trained professionals and the well-coordinated acrobatics of the clowns called charis, bring loud laughter to the audience. In Kuwana, the performances are also held at Daifukudenji Temple on April 2nd and at Shindate Shrine on October 23rd. Designated as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The once quiet shrine grounds are filled with excitement as the group displays brave acrobatics such as the lion dance, plate spinning, and acrobatics.
