Explanatory text
The shrine enshrines Amaterasu-Omikami Omikami, the ancestral deity of the Imperial Family and the chief deity of Japan, and the sacred object is the Yatagarasu Mirror, one of the Three Sacred Treasures. It is located on the banks of the Isuzu River, at the foot of Mount Shinro, surrounded by dense forests, and the approach to the shrine is paved with gravel.
