Bungalows and auto-camping facilities are available, and camping equipment can be rented, so you can easily enjoy the outdoors. You can stroll through the Ukishima wetlands where ducks and geese play, and there are also promenades and observation towers that go around the surrounding area, so everyone from small children to adults can spend a relaxing day here. The floating island in Ukishima Park Nantou is said to have been created when this area was once the sea, and crustal movements caused the tip of the mountain to slide into the seawater with ferns and other trees on it, causing it to rise and sink with the rise and fall of the seawater. It was designated a Mie Prefecture Natural Monument in 1940.
