Explanatory text
In 1753, the shogunate ordered the Satsuma Domain to carry out construction work on the three major rivers of Ibi, Nagara, and Kiso, but this resulted in many casualties. These loyal retainers are buried in 14 temples in Gifu and Mie prefectures, and 21 gravestones, including that of Hirata Tsuneyuki, remain here, and the area is designated as a city-designated historic site.
