Explanatory text

The "Hokyointo" pagoda in a corner next to the main hall dates back to the Nanboku-cho period and is designated as a cultural asset of Mie Prefecture. At the base of the pagoda is an inscription that reads "Teiwa 4th year, February day, Jyoshin Myoin" ("Pure heart, myoin"). It is said that this person was the niece of Hojo Tokimune, the eighth regent of the Kamakura Shogunate, and married Toki Yorisada, the guardian of Mino Province.
