Explanatory text
It began in 1596, 20 years after Lord Kitabatake Tomonori was killed, when the residents of Kamimise built a kokushido near his residence to pray for his soul. The shrine was later moved to the current location of Miyagawa High School, but in the Showa era it was enshrined in its current location. The main deity is Lord Kitabatake Tomonori, and a ceramic statue of Tomonori about 25cm tall is enshrined in the main hall.
