Turning off National Route 163, which runs through the center of Oyamada Village, and following the tributary of the river from Hirose upstream until you come to the point where the village of okubano comes into view, you are already in the realm of the mountain god. The clear waters of Umano Valley will soothe your soul as the seasons change. This valley is the source of a tributary of the Yodo River and Kizu River systems. The contrast between the clear waters and the trees nurtured by the forests of the Nunobiki Mountains is striking. You can see the shadows of Amago, the queen of the mountain streams.
