Explanatory text
It is called "Shichiri no Watashi" (Seven Ri Crossing) because it was seven ri by sea from Atsuta to Kuwana. At the time, it was the 42nd post town on Tokaido and was a very lively place. The large torii gate standing here is known as the "Ise no Kuni Ichi Torii" (the first torii gate in Ise Province) because it is where you enter the Ise Route. It is rebuilt every time IseJingu Shrine is rebuilt.
