Onigajo cherry blossoms

Shooting location

KumanoCity

Explanatory text

This natural work of art, created by uplift, weathering and erosion by waves, stretches for 1km facing the Kumano Sea. It is a national scenic spot and natural monument. At the summit, there are ruins of a castle from the Warring States period, and a hiking trail has been developed that connects to Matsumoto Pass on the Kumano Kodo. From the observation deck known as Oni no Miharashidai, you can get a panoramic view of the Kumano Sea. The hiking trail leading to the summit is covered with cherry trees, and in spring, four types of cherry blossoms bloom one after another, delighting the eyes of tourists who visit for a long period of time.
