Explanatory text

In June, hydrangeas bloom all around the temple, making it look as if there is a temple in the hydrangeas, and so it is unintentionally called the "Hydrangea Temple." The temple's real name is "Hoju-san Daiji-ji Temple," and it is a Rinzai sect Myoshinji temple. The guardian deity is the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva, and the treasure is the painting "Nirvana," but it is not open to the public.
