Explanatory text
Completed in 1913, Rokkaen includes a Western-style building with a four-story tower by British architect Josiah Conder, who also designed the Rokumeikan, a Japanese-style building, and a pond garden in the front yard, and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property as a valuable building representing the Meiji and Taisho periods.
