Explanatory text

This castle was built by Gamo Ujisato over 400 years ago (1588). Ujisato was transferred to Matsugashima Castle by order of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and in search of a stronger castle, he built a castle at what is now Yoihonomori. There was once a three-story castle tower and a military quarters. Today, the cherry blossoms and ginkgo trees are beautiful, and the castle is a place of relaxation for local citizens.
