Explanatory text
Located in the center of Muro Akame Aoyama Quasi-National Park, this gently undulating plateau can be enjoyed in all four seasons. In spring, clusters of andromeda and azaleas bloom, followed by the small red flowers of dianthus. In autumn, the white spikes of silver grass flutter in the wind, and the frost-covered trees in winter are also beautiful. You can enjoy a 12km highland drive from Mt. Kasatori at the northern end of the plateau to Aoyama Pass. (Photo taken in the summer of 2009)
