Mie Prefecture, known as the "beautiful land," has fishing grounds such as the Kumano Sea, Ago Bay, Matoya Bay, Gokasho Bay, and Sugashima Strait, and there are many natural harbors along the coastline, where seasonal seafood is landed in the spring, summer, fall, and winter.
