Explanatory text

This natural work of art was created by uplift, weathering, and erosion, and stretches for 1km facing the Kumano Sea. It is a national scenic spot and natural monument. At the summit are the remains of a castle from the Warring States period, and a hiking trail has been developed that connects to Matsumoto Pass on the Kumano Kodo.
