The festival, which is held mainly in niu Fureai no Mori, where 10,000 hydrangeas bloom, has the motto "cherish water and soil." Many events are held that make use of the natural environment and agricultural waters of the village, such as "irrigation water boat rides," "trout fishing," "rice field concerts," and "rice field tug-of-war competitions."
