In the Suzuka Mountains, which we are proud of, a beautiful world of silver spreads out in winter! Climbing a snowy mountain in winter is never easy, but it is a valuable climb that can only be done at this time of year, and the snow-covered trees and pure white scenery you will see there will be something you will never forget!
This time, we will introduce three of them, "Mt.Gozaisho dake", "Fujiwara-dake", and "Oike-dake", and invite you to the "world of silver"...!
◆Article creation: ASOBISIA #Mie Travel Camera Club
A trio of close friends who love the outdoors. Normally, he struggles as a Japanese office worker and faces the turbulent waves of society. In October 2020, he formed ASOBISIA after climbing a mountain one day, and opened Instagram and YouTube. On Instagram, his SUP photo in Miyagawa ranked first in the 2020 "Likes" ranking for Mie Tourism. This is a fledgling and active group.
Climbing in snowy mountains requires more caution than climbing in other seasons. Check the necessary tools and precautions in advance, and be sure to take on the challenge with plenty of time and in perfect condition!

Mt.Gozaisho shows off its appearance in each season: spring, summer, fall, and winter. You can take GozaishoRopeway to the top, so even those who don't climb mountains can easily enjoy the mountain scenery! Mt.Gozaisho in winter is very beautiful with frost-covered trees, and the contrast between the blue sky and pure white snow is amazing!

Naka trailhead ~ (about 3 hours to the summit)
◆Access Get off the Shin-Meishin Expressway at Komono and walk along National Route 577 for about 30 minutes. You will see the parking lot on your left. Parking is available for approximately 70 cars. Make sure your car is fully equipped for winter!
Climbing in snowy mountains has many dangers that are different from other seasons. It's quite slippery underfoot, so spikes attached to your climbing shoes called crampons are a must! It's important to protect yourself from the cold by wearing hats, earmuffs, gloves, tights, thick socks, etc. to keep yourself warm, but also clothes that are easy to put on and take off so you don't get cold from sweat!
A quick look at the ASOBISIA members in preparation.
I'm wearing crampons so I can walk properly on snowy roads! If you place the camera at your feet and use the self-timer or remote function, you can take fun photos like this ^^
Climbing trails on days when there is snow are often difficult to grasp. It's relatively easy to follow a path with footprints, mud and snow that looks like grated daikon radish with soy sauce poured on it, but if there are no footprints and it's hard to see, be sure to stop and check as you walk.
Near the 6th station, there is a place called ``Kilette'' where fine rocks are piled up. You can enjoy a little rock climb. I took the photo from a bottom angle to make it look even more impressive! Crazy Shimizu, who appears in the photo, was happily taking pictures here and there and making more memories! lol
It can be especially slippery and dangerous in winter, so don't rush, take your time, and be careful!
This is ASOBISIA's favorite spot, just past "Kilette"! This is a spectacular spot where you can see Mt. Kamagatake and GozaishoRopeway together, and the moment you wave to the passengers riding the ropeway. When they wave back, I feel like I was able to share in the fun and it feels good ^^
This is my favorite piece!
What a beautiful mountain... The snow-covered mountain is so beautiful that words cannot describe it, and Mt.Gozaisho is a luxurious mountain where you can see such a spectacular view even on the way up the mountain. I was able to enjoy the grandeur that cannot be experienced on the ropeway!
*Please be careful of your feet when taking pictures in rocky areas.
This is a shot of the scenery from above using an extension pole called "El Grande", one of GoPro's accessories! This is an excellent product that maximizes the fun of playing in the snow and beautiful trees and captures the moment! If you try taking photos from various perspectives, from above, from below, up, wide-angle, etc., you're sure to be able to take great photos!
As we took the middle mountain trail to the top, a tunnel of frost-covered trees welcomed us. I felt like I was in a dramatic promotional video, and I was captivated by the sight that unfolded. I was able to feel the beauty that is unique to winter!
When you think of Mt.Gozaisho in winter, it's all about the frost covered trees! On a sunny day, the frost-covered trees are truly beautiful and shine like crystals. It is a beautiful piece of nature that everyone who visits should definitely see. I'm sure you'll be able to take great photos no matter what angle you take it from! It would be nice to try uploading it ^^
Gaku Fujiwara
Located in the northern part of the Suzuka Mountains, it is a mountain with an altitude of 1144m that has been selected as one of Japan's 300 Famous Mountains, Kansai 100 Famous Mountains, and 100 Famous Flower Mountains. It is a popular mountain that many climbers from outside the prefecture visit even in winter! Every year, I get the impression that the amount of snowfall is the highest among the Suzuka Seven Mountains.

Ogaido trailhead ~ (about 2 and a half hours to the summit)
◆Access
You can park your car at the Fujiwara-dake trailhead parking lot, which is about 20 minutes after getting off the Toin Expressway on the Tokai Kanjo Expressway. (You can also find it on Google Maps!) You can park about 20 cars for free, and there is also a restroom!
#Climbing start
The climbing begins after passing through the torii gate of Jimmu Shrine! There is also a climbing notification post located to the right of the torii gate, so be sure to fill it out before entering the mountain.#Walk using poles
When climbing snowy mountains, you can walk more stably with trekking poles. The snow and ice illuminated by the sun can be dazzling at times, so we recommend wearing sunglasses or ski goggles! It also has the effect of making you look cool when taking photos (lol)
#Drawing
I drew the letters ASOBISIA on the snow. This is a unique way to play in the snowy mountains! Let's carve proof of your visit to the mountain!
#shelter
Mt. Fujiwara has an evacuation hut and a toilet between the 9th station and the summit. Both are in very good condition thanks to the care taken by the caretaker. Only the first floor of the evacuation hut is open to the public free of charge. The space can accommodate about 15 people, and there are desks, so many people come here to take a lunch break!
*Please remove your crampons when entering.
#toilet
This is the toilet! It is located in front of the mountain hut and is available for men and women separately. The only places in the Suzuka Mountains that have toilets along the way are Mt.Gozaisho and Mt. Fujiwara. Thank the administrator and use it!
#Fujiwaradake summit
This is a photo taken at the summit of Mt. Fujiwaradake! The summit of Mt. Fujiwara has a 36 degree panoramic view and you can see the best snowy scenery! You can also see Mt.Gozaisho and Mt. Oike, which are introduced this time.
#Yukijiro (Snowman)
Yukijiro entertains those who reach the top of the mountain. If you come to a snowy mountain, you must make a snowman! (lol) Yukijiro is also smiling as he looks at the spectacular view.
# Spectacular view from the top of the mountain
This is the view towards Inabe and Komono from the top of the mountain. No matter which direction you look from the top of the mountain, it's beautiful! The frost-covered trees are also wonderful. You can see why Mt. Fujiwara is popular in winter.
Mt. Oike (Oikegadake)
Mt. Oike can be enjoyed in all seasons, but the snowy scenery in winter is especially captivating, and I think it's filled with the charm of winter mountain climbing (^^)
We will take you to a world-class silver world ( •ᴗ•)*♪
Kiwadao Patrol Route Entrance - Mt. Komukai - Shirase Pass - Summit of Mt. Oike (slightly long course)
◆Access
Park your car at Fujiwara Simple Parking and walk for about 10 minutes to the trailhead.
*Be careful of winter road closures when accessing other trailheads.
#Buttonbuchi and Eukern
As you move away from the summit, the scenery opens up and you can see the Suzuka Mountains, including the Suzuka Seven Mountains! Enjoy the scenery with Mt. Oike's cairn, Eukeln, standing nearby♪#Tengu nose that feels the wind
It is located near Botanbuchi, and as the name suggests, there is a rock that sticks out like the long nose of a tengu, and you can see a wonderful view from there! Be careful of the tengu wind that comes out from the tengu feather fan! (Translation: The wind is strong, so please be careful.)#Let's tree walking
A thick layer of white snow fell all over the place amidst the thick trees. I walked along a linear path. The surrounding scenery and air were beautiful, and every step was fun and exciting! There were some incidents where I was so excited that I almost slipped and fell, and I dropped my GoPro and didn't notice it for a while (°∀°) lolBe careful of your feet and dropped items!
#white carpet
This is one of my favorite photos because it looks like it doesn't look like Japan! The patterns projected on the white carpet were so beautiful that I can't describe them in words. Amazing!#Snow power
Snowy landscapes are not only beautiful, but I feel like they bring out the power of nature to the fullest, so I want to take photos intuitively! I often come across scenery that makes me think! I would like to continue to cherish the random moments and deliver photos full of charm! !#Required item!
This is a must-have item for winter mountain climbing! Of course, the most important thing is to have the equipment and preparation to climb safely, but it's also important to have items to enjoy the winter mountain climbing and snow! Don't forget to have fun! ! (lol)Find a place where you can do it safely and have fun♪
#Japanese Snow Darumas
When I went mountain climbing, there were snow dolls (Japanese style) near the top of the mountain.I wonder if this is a genuine snowman in Japan? (lol)
Maybe you can meet Snow Dalmers too? (lol)
There are many other beautiful mountains in the Suzuka Mountains!
