Tamaki pork is a type of pig that is fed a unique feed jointly developed and produced by pig farmers in TamakiTown, and is raised in good health under strict management. The meat is juicy, tender, and has sweet fat. It's a feature.

There is also a ``handmade experience class'' where you can enjoy making sausages using Tamaki pork, but as of the date of publication (October 2022), the experience has been canceled to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

*Please see the official website for details on the barbecue house and handmade experience class.

In this interview, we visited the "Freshly Harvested Agricultural Products Market" and the "Direct Sales of Tamaki Pork" corner, so we'll bring you the details!

Furthermore, we will also introduce the famous gourmet food of the adjacent "Agri Annex Kome Kobo" ♫

Freshly harvested agricultural products market

As soon as I entered the store, I discovered the "Freshly Produced Agricultural Products Market" with rows and rows of vegetables and fruits! The agricultural products displayed here are all fresh, made with love by farmers in TamakiTown ♫

When I visited in early March, there was a special strawberry corner with many varieties of Kaorino, an original variety from Mie Prefecture.

As the name suggests, this strawberry is characterized by its high aroma, and its sweet and sour taste and juicy pulp are very delicious♫

All the vegetables and fruits are grown in TamakiTown, and there is a wide variety of green onions, carrots, Chinese cabbage, mandarin oranges, lemons, and more.

One of the attractions is that the produce is freshly harvested every morning and sold directly by the farmers, so it's fresh and safe.

We sell not only agricultural products, but also handmade lunch boxes, side dishes, and bread, with a carefully selected lineup that uses local ingredients.

What caught my attention were the croquettes made with Tamaki pork. I bought it and ate it during the interview, and the juicy taste of the meat was addicting.♫ It's full of pork mince, so it's very filling.

Tamaki pork direct sales corner

The ``Tamaki Pork Direct Sales'' corner inside the store is lined with meat that has been shaped here, as well as hams, sausages, and other items made from the meat, and is full of the store's best-recommended products.

The ham and sausage (wiener) are handmade using authentic German methods, and do not use preservatives, coloring agents, or fillers, so you can enjoy the full flavor of Tamaki pork. Recommended as a souvenir or gift!

I bought some German Wieners and baked them at home, and they were delicious with no odor and a gentle flavor. Because of its soft flesh, it was perfect as an ingredient in oden and stews.

When you come to Tamaki Pork's direct sales corner, be sure to take a look at the ``Today's Special Items.''

You can purchase the products lined up here for cheaper than usual, and on the day of our interview, the ``chopped shoulder loin'' was on sale!

Furthermore, an event called "Meat Day" is held on the 29th and second Saturday and Sunday of every month, and handmade products such as Tamaki pork meat are sold at great prices, so be sure to check it out ♫

Agri Annex Yone Kobo’s famous gourmet food

Agri Annex Kome Kobo, located about a 2-minute walk from Furusato Aji Kobo Agri, sells rice and mochi produced in TamakiTown, as well as side dishes, bento boxes, and pickles made with local ingredients.

There are several famous gourmet dishes here, and we will introduce two recommended by our staff along with a food report.

The first thing I bought was "Butaman" made with Tamaki pork.

A sign posted inside the store says, ``Agri's proud creation,'' and my heart swells with anticipation.

The frozen version that you can take home is sold for 950 yen for a pack of 6, and the hot version that can be eaten on the spot is sold for 180 yen each.

When I bought a piping hot one at the cash register and cut it in half...↓

It had a lot of meat! The fragrant scent of Tamaki pork spreads with the steam ♫

The dough is very fluffy and the meat is juicy and soft! Both the dough and the meat were of high quality, and it was a masterpiece that you could feel the restaurant's commitment to it ♫

Another specialty is something called ``Agri-yaki,'' which is sold at the Taco House next to the Agri Bekkan Yonekobo.

Agri-yaki, which looks like takoyaki, contains Tamaki pork instead of octopus, and is said to be very popular with locals.

The flavor is...the crunchy texture of the pork and the flavor of the soup stock make it addictive. The sauce and green seaweed are self-service, so you can adjust the amount yourself ♫

Highlights of Fureainoyakata (hot spring)

``Fureai Fureainoyakata, is a facility where you can enjoy a day trip to the hot springs, where you can soak in the ``Tamagusuku Kobo Hot Spring'' that gushes out in this area.

The spring is alkaline and has a slightly slimy texture, which keeps you warm after you've finished your bath. It has the effect of recovering from fatigue, so I stop by here on my way back from my trip to Ise-Shima to heal my body ♫

In addition to Fureainoyakata no Yakata has another attraction: a street piano installed in the hall of the facility.

This street piano is named "Onsen Piano" and anyone can play it freely. I tried playing it, and it was well-tuned, so the beautiful tone echoed throughout the facility.

During busy times, there is a rule that each person takes a turn after 10 minutes, and the performance time is from 10:30 to 19:00.

New encounters and friendships may be born through playing the piano ♫

Flowers of each season

There is a flower garden next to Furusato Aji Kobo Agri where you can enjoy sunflowers in the summer, cosmos in the fall, and rape blossoms in the winter. Furthermore, cherry blossoms are planted in the walkways and plazas surrounding the building, and the park is crowded with cherry blossom viewing visitors in spring.

Here we will introduce the best time to see each flower and how they are in full bloom. In particular, the cosmos will be in full bloom soon, so be sure to check them out!

*Admission to the flower garden is free.

Please check here for detailed flowering status.

sunflower

From the end of June to mid-July, about 40,000 sunflowers bloom in a field of about 20 ares, and the flowers are about 15 to 20 cm in diameter and 1.5 to 2.1 m in height, so you can admire the tall sunflowers ♫

The recommended time is sunset, which gives you a chance to capture a fantastic scene of sunset and sunflowers!

cosmos

Every year, from mid-October to early November, cosmos bloom across the approximately 20 ares of fields. The colors of cosmos are rich in color: white, pink, and deep pink, and if you take a photo with a white swing, it will look like a beautiful picture ♫

Cherry blossom trees

The walking path that runs from ASPIATamaki parking lot to the gazebo is also called Sakura Road, and is lined with about 100 cherry blossom trees in spring. The best time to see the cherry blossoms is from late March to early April, and there is also a cherry blossom road at Fureai Hiroba, which has a large lawn.

Rape blossoms

From mid-January to late February, early-blooming rape blossoms bloom in about 20 ares of fields, and the number of rapeseed flowers is about 200,000!

There is a path inside the field, so you can take photos that look like you are surrounded by rape blossoms ♫
