Where is The Post in the sky?
The Post in the sky is located at the summit plaza of Mt.Asama, and its altitude is 555m!
A retro-looking mailbox stands alone in the square, and it has been selected as a ``lover's sacred place.''
The combination of the blue sky and bright red mailbox is sure to make a great photo!
You can actually send letters, and stamps and postcards can be purchased at the mountaintop shop.
The summit shop is a souvenir shop located at the summit plaza that also sells original picture postcards with picturesque views of the Ise-Shima skyline and The Post in the sky printed on them.
Why not post a letter with updates on your current situation or memories from your trip to The Post in the sky?
A few years ago, people began renting out flying brooms, which have become a hot topic as they allow you to take photos that look like you're flying in the sky!
The location where you can rent this broom will be explained in detail at the end of the article, so please read until the end.
First, I will explain how to access The Post in the sky and its business hours.
how to access
The Post in the sky can be reached via the Ise-Shima Skyline toll road.
Ise-Shima Skyline is a 16.3km driveway that connects Ise and Toba, and is a spectacular spot where you can see the rich nature of Ise-Shima and Ise Bay!
I will explain how to get there by car and bus below.
Directions by car
Those coming by car can access the mountaintop observation deck in about 15 minutes from the Ise-Shima Skyline entrance.
The entrance on the Ise side (Ise Toll Gate) is about 5 minutes from Ise Nishi IC, and the entrance on the Toba side (Toba Toll Gate) is about 1 minute from JR-Kintetsu "Toba Station", making it easy to access.
There are several observation decks along the way, so why not enjoy the spectacular views of Ise-Shima while getting off along the way?
There is a parking lot at the summit plaza, so you can park your car here and walk to The Post in the sky in a few minutes.
Since the location is high up, I think it's the perfect place to take a commemorative photo of your beloved car.
How to get there by bus
The Mie Kotsu Group's Sangu Bus runs the Skyline Route between Kintetsu Isuzugawa Station and the Ise-Shima Skyline only on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, New Year's holidays, and Obon.
The route is Kintetsu Isuzugawa Station - Urata Town -KongoshojiTemple- Yamagami Koen, and Urata Town is a bus stop near the entrance to Oharai-Machi.
Tenku Post is only a few minutes walk from The Post in the sky ``Yamagami Hiroen'', so if you are traveling to Ise by train or bus, you can enjoy the Ise-Shima Skyline by taking the ``Sangu Bus''.
Please see the Mie Kotsu Group's official website for timetables and fares.

Nearby spots
Here, we will introduce the exquisite gourmet food that can be eaten at the spots around The Post in the sky and Mt.Asama.
Mt.Asama Observation Deck
Mt.Asama Observation Deck, located right next to The Post in the sky is a spectacular view point overlooking Ise Bay!
There's nothing blocking your view, so you can enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view.
The weather was good that day, so we could see Toshijima, Sakatejima, and Kamishima, which are remote islands of TobaCity.
Cape Irago can be seen vaguely in the distance, and when the weather conditions are right, you can even see Mt. Fuji!
In my experience, there are many chances to see Mt. Fuji in winter when the air is clear.
View footbath
The ``Observation Footbath'' at Mt.Asama Observation Deck is a footbath with a spectacular view at an altitude of 555m!
It is the highest footbath in Mie Prefecture, and you can see Ise Bay below.
The fee is 100 yen for adults and 50 yen for children, and you can use it by dropping money into the provided fare box.
It is open from 10:00 to 17:00, and towels for the footbath can be purchased at the mountaintop shop.
Kankichidai
There is a walking course called ``Sanpomichi'' a few minutes walk from The Post in the sky, and you can walk around it in about 10 to 15 minutes.
Along the way, Kankichidai is one of the most scenic spots in Mie Prefecture.
Here is the view I saw at sunset ↓
A great location overlooking the Ise Plain and Ise Bay!
Doesn't it look like a scene from a movie?
This is a sunset spot that is only known to those in the know, so be sure to check it out♪
Asakuma Chaya
After enjoying The Post in the sky how about taking a break at Asakuma Chaya?
Asakuma Chaya is a restaurant located at the summit plaza, with a full takeout menu including sweets and drinks.
When you come here, you must try the Tenku no Soft-serve ice cream, 380 yen (tax included).
The rich vanilla milk flavor is addictive, and when you hold it up against the blue sky, it looks like a cloud, which is cute!
Eating soft-serve ice cream while looking out at the spectacular view of Ise-Shima is something special!

Mountaintop shop
The mountaintop shop next to Asakuma Chaya sells many souvenirs from Ise-Shima.
In addition to souvenirs using Mie brand Matsusaka beef and Ise lobster, local sake from Mie Prefecture, and accessories using pearls, a specialty of Ise-Shima, we have a wide variety of items.
As soon as I entered the store, what caught my eye was Envelope Ise-Udon Ise-Udon which allows you to enjoy Ise udon at home.
They can be stored at room temperature, making them perfect as souvenirs, but their envelope-like appearance is unique and makes a big impact!
The person who received this might be surprised to see Ise-Udon inside the envelope.
*This is a product that was on sale at the time of visit on September 4, 2022.
As I proceeded to the back of the store, a panel exhibition of the movie "Chicken Phoenix" was being held.
The panel with the lead actors Arata Iura and Ryo Narita side by side is so cool♪
*This is the scene when I visited on September 4, 2022.
Chicken Phoenix is a movie that was filmed in Ise-Shima, and was released in movie theaters nationwide on April 15, 2022.
The Ise-Shima Skyline also appears in the story, and a panel with that scene printed on it was displayed on the wall of the store.
If you want to know the filming locations of Chicken Phoenix, please see the article below for details.

The location is...above the "mountain summit shop"!
This place can be accessed via Mt.Asama Observation Deck, and it is a perfect place to view the night view at sunset.
Here is the scene↓
You can't help but be enchanted by the beauty of the sparkling city lights and sunset gradation...
If you want to see the night view in Ise-Shima, how about Ise-Shima Skyline?
The night view you can see not only from the summit plaza but also from along the way is exceptional.
During sunset, the area around The Post in the sky is less crowded, so you may even be able to take a commemorative photo in a private setting.
The sunset sky and retro mailbox were also picturesque.
