nice to meet you! This is Munyu Gourmet from the Mie Travel Gourmet Club.
Currently, I am disseminating gourmet information about Mie Prefecture mainly on Instagram (@mie_recommend).
We've visited over 400 restaurants in the prefecture (we're still updating!), and we'll be introducing some of our recommended ones.
1.What is “happy muffin”?
A store specializing in baked goods and muffins that are particular about ingredients such as additive-free and reduced pesticides. Based on our philosophy, ``We want everyone, including small children, to be able to enjoy delicious sweets with peace of mind,'' we use high-quality ingredients to make safe, secure, and delicious sweets.
The store will celebrate its 10th anniversary in May 2023. From selling muffins at the front door, to owning a small store, and then to the current store with an eat-in space. It has grown and is loved by many people.
The owner graduated from a confectionery school and studied abroad in Paris. The shop is run by a family of three: the owner, his mother, and his father. The owner and his mother bake the muffins, and his father takes care of the coffee and the washing up. The store's warm, family atmosphere is also part of its charm.
2. About muffins
Muffins are sold freshly baked that morning.
There are about 30 types of muffins available, and the number of muffins baked per day is about 600...!
The ingredients used in the muffins are carefully selected, including flour and butter produced in Hokkaido, ouchiyama milk, eggs produced in Mie Prefecture, cane sugar, and aluminum-free baking powder.
The muffins are crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The large toppings accentuate the flavor and give it a sense of volume.
You'll be spoiled for choice with the wide variety of muffins! If so, check out the popularity rankings♪
3. Muffins that can be enjoyed by people with wheat allergies
We also sell rice flour muffins that can be eaten by people with wheat allergies.
Contains rice flour and cane sugar from Aichi Prefecture, unadjusted soy milk, first-pressed rapeseed oil, and aluminum-free baking powder.
You can also reserve only this muffin.
Banana, sweet potato, and by reservation only chocolate chip muffins are available. (Image center: Rice flour muffin banana)
4. Delicious way to eat takeout muffins
You can enjoy the deliciousness of freshly baked muffins by heating them in the microwave for about 20 seconds and then toasting them in the toaster for about 2 minutes. The shelf life is 2 days at room temperature and 3 days in the refrigerator. Some people buy a lot and freeze it! It will last about 2 weeks if frozen. If frozen, we recommend letting it thaw naturally before warming it up!
5.Limited menu for in-store dining
Mini muffin sets are also available for in-store dining only. The set of 3 types of small muffins is great because you can try out different flavors! Muffin flavor is random♪
6. The charm of carefully brewed coffee
Coffee is ground after receiving an order and brewed using flannel drip. Happy muffin original blend roasted by MIROKU COFFEE (*). A slightly dark roasted coffee made from a blend of three types of beans: Brazilian, Mandhelin, and Colombian. It's a strong coffee with a deep richness and bitterness that goes well with muffins and cheesecakes, without any acidity.
*We carry out mobile sales of coffee beans, etc. around the Tokai region.
7. Sweets other than muffins too!
In addition to muffins, we also sell Basque cheesecake. There are 3 types: plain, chocolate, and matcha. Baked at a high temperature for a short time, the inside is soft and the outside is slightly browned. The most popular is the plain one, but the matcha basque cheesecake, which uses plenty of Kyoto matcha, and the rich chocolate basque cheesecake, which is said to taste like raw chocolate, are also popular!
Apple pies are also available only in the fall, when red apples are available.
We use plenty of red apples delivered from Nagano. Handmade and baked from pie dough.
When eating in, you can add ouchiyama milk vanilla ice cream and homemade caramel cream.
The simple and warm apple pie goes perfectly with cold vanilla ice cream and rich, bittersweet caramel sauce!
If you are eating or drinking inside the store, we recommend adding one.
8. Inside the store
The interior of the restaurant is spacious, with one table for one person, two tables for two people, and one table for three people.
The antique accessories and dried flowers displayed inside and outside the store are also wonderful.
