Hamabou colony in Aokawa

It grows in clusters near the mouth of the Aokawa River and blooms from July to August. It is said that this plant was first planted as a landmark from the sea during the Edo period, when there was a port on the Aokawa River, but the number of this plant has been decreasing recently. The Aokawa River is a class 2 river in Mie Prefecture that flows approximately in the middle of kumozu and the Miwatari River, and is located on the north side of ``Heartful Mikumo''.

Hamabou colony in MinamiiseTown (Minamiise Town, MinamiiseTown)

MinamiiseTown is said to be home to one of the largest colonies of Japanese thorns in Honshu, and many people visit during the flowering season. It grows in clusters on the sandbanks at the mouth of the Iseji River in naize district, and usually blooms from mid-July to mid-August.

Hamabou on the Matsunase coast (MatsusakaCity)

It was first planted in the Edo period, when there was a port on the Aoi River, for the purpose of transporting ships from the sea. It is said to be the northern limit of kumozu, and the rare seaside plant, the hamadori, blooms profusely in early summer.

At Katakami Pond, which is adjacent to Kii-NagashimaManbo, Michi-no-eki in KihokuTown, you can see sunflower flowers from mid-July to early August. You can see the yellow Hamabou flowers up close from the wooden deck path of Katakami Pond.
In KihokuTown, you can also see clusters of Japanese hamadori in the Hagiwara River.
