Zenpukuji Zenfukuji

A temple of the Tendai Shinsei sect located in the Yamate area from the Tsu IC.
The ``Wooden Standing Statue of Bishamonten'' in the collection has been designated as a national important cultural property.
This statue is thought to have been created during the Heian period. Written by Master Jikeita in the late Heian period.
This statue is characterized by its mouth wide open and eyes wide open as it stares at the opponent, giving it an impressive look. It is enshrined in Bishamondo Hall within the temple grounds.
