This Inumaki tree is an isolated tree located on the right bank of the Nishiji kounogi in Kamiki, MihamaTown, and is surrounded by mandarin orange fields, giving it a peaceful atmosphere.
With good growing conditions such as sunlight, this kounogi, Inumaki, is one of the largest trees in the prefecture, with a circumference of about 5.7m at breast height, making it the second largest tree in Japan after Inumaki in Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture.
The tree is in good condition, has no cavities in its trunk, and is about 20 meters tall, giving off the atmosphere of a large tree.
It is said that there used to be a shrine here, but it was moved to another location during the Meiji period, leaving only this Inumaki shrine.
It was designated as a prefectural natural monument on March 17, 2003 (H15).
