Mifunejima Mifunejima
This island is part of the grounds of Kumano Hayatama Taisha Shrine, which is also registered as a World Heritage Site, and was the venue for the annual festival of Kumano Hayatama Taisha, the Mifune Festival.
It floats about 2km upstream from the mouth of the Kumano River.
There is also a course that goes around this island on the Santanho tour.
