The flowers that have just opened are pale green.

Gyokozakura, which can be seen in the Izumi district of MinamiiseTown, is a double cherry tree that blooms from mid-April to late April.

When the flowers just open, they gradually change from pale green to bright yellow, and then the center of the petals turns red.

"Goi" means the kimono of aristocrats, and its origin comes from the fact that the green petals are similar to the "moe-yellow" color of the clothing worn by aristocrats during the Heian period.

It is located in the back of the village of Izumi, and the road is very narrow, so please use the parking lot of the Izumi District Agricultural Training Facility.

☆For the latest flowering status, please check the stories and highlights on the town's official Instagram.
