Kogakukan University Sagawa Memorial Shinto Museum
On April 30, 1882, Kogakkan was established in Hayashizaki Bunko by order of His Imperial Highness Prince Kunimiya Asahiko, the chief priest of the Shrine. The government-run Jingu Kogakkan became Jingu Kogakkan University, and in 1945 it was established as Jingu Kogakkan University. (1946) In March, the school was closed by order of the Allied General Headquarters (GHQ).
From April 1962, it was re-established as a private university.
This museum is a university-affiliated museum facility that opened on October 25, 1992, with the aim of accurately conveying Japanese culture, history, tradition, beliefs, and ideology through the introduction of Shintoism and shrines.
