The Shono-juku Museum was opened in 1998 by restoring part of the main building to its original state in order to utilize the vast amount of post-related materials remaining in Shono-juku and to preserve the former Kobayashi family home (a cultural property designated by the city). It opened on.
Shono-juku developed as the 45th inn of the 53 Stations of Tokaido, and is also well known for ``White Rain of Shono,'' which is said to be a masterpiece among the landscape prints of ``The 53 Stations of Tokaido'' by Hiroshige Ando. Masu.
Inside the museum, there are exhibited documents such as Honjin and Wakihonjin documents of Shono-juku, documents related to the post station, paintings and documents by the late Hikosaburo Kobayashi, who was active in the Japanese art world, as well as folk tools, agricultural tools, and daily necessities that remain in the area.
