In 1582, during the Honnoji Incident, Tokugawa Ieyasu stayed overnight at the temple on June 2nd while returning to Mikawa from Senshu Sakai. It is said that in return, Ieyasu gave them fields and forests, and also allowed them to use the Aoi crest.
Furthermore, when TakatoraTodo entered Japan, he was given a letter stating that he would permanently donate 2 koku of rice and 200 monme of tea, and it is said that this continued until the end of the Edo period. ) Ten letters of donation from each feudal lord still exist.
