Sakakibara Onsen Village
As Sakakibara Onsen was located at the entrance to the Ise region, it has a history where Imperial Princes who came to worship at IseJingu took a bath to purify themselves, and where Sei Shonagon, a talented woman from the Heian period, was said to have bathed. In ``The Pillow Book,'' the hot spring is referred to as ``Nanakuri no Yu'' (its name at the time), and since the god of Izumo is enshrined as the guardian deity of the hot springs, many love poems remain. As you can see, it has a deep connection to the imperial court and shrines, and the smooth, smooth spring quality is soothing for the mind and body.
