What is the Thousand Guests Banrai Summer Festival?
The Senkyakubanrai Summer Festival is a festival held in Odai-cho, Taki-gun, OdaiTown on August 15th every year, coinciding with the time when people return home for the Obon holidays.
In 2006, with the merger of the former OdaiTown and the former Miyagawa Village, the summer festivals that had been held in each town and village disappeared.
The memories of the summer festivals we participated in when we were young are treasures. We want the children who live in the area to continue to make special memories, and we also encourage families who have moved out of town to return home with their children during Obon and spend time with grandparents who live in the countryside of Odai. It all began when OdaiTown Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Youth Division kept the summer festival alive in order to let people enjoy the nighttime hustle and bustle.
This is the first time in 5 years since 2018 that the executive committee is very excited!
