From August1st(Tuesday)toAugust31st(Thursday),2023, you can enjoy matcha in an authentic tea bowl created byBanko pottery artist who is active mainly in Yokkaichi.

Have a drink with your favorite bowl

In the ryurei seating area, where you can casually take a drink, there are tea bowls by 26 Banko artistson display, and you can choose one you like and pour matcha on it.

This event, ``Enjoying Tea in Banko Artist's Tea Bowls,'' has been an event at Shusuian that has been going on since 2005, and is held twice a year in summer and winter.

Matcha, Japanese sweets, and bowls are all from Yokkaichi.

Teachers from the Yokkaichi Tea Ceremony Teachers Federation will be in charge of the tea ceremony at the Ryureiseki seating area of Shusuian, and the sweets will be provided by local tea ceremony teachers from around the city.3 housesThe Japanese confectionery shops are in charge every month.The matcha used is also from Yokkaichi. Matcha and sweets are 500 yen each.

What is Shisuian?

Shusuianis a tea room built in 1994,designed by Masao Nakamura, a leading Sukiya architect.


It is located in Unomori Park, which is one of YokkaichiCity 's famous cherry blossom viewing spots, and is also a place for residents to relax. ReiwaFiveYear6In April, the number of visitors to Ryurei seats increased.20It reached 10,000 people.
