``Suzuka Mountain Foot Chestnut Kinton'' made with Japanese chestnuts from Yokkaichi

Nakayama Seikaho was founded in 1959 in Nishiakuragawa, YokkaichiCity. Previously, we used chestnuts from Kumamoto Prefecture, but four to five years ago we started using Rihei chestnuts produced in Mie Prefecture, mainly from Yokkaichi. The only ingredients are chestnuts and caster sugar. Because the chestnuts are steamed and then coarsely strained, you can enjoy the crunchy texture and rich flavor of the chestnuts.

Kurikinton spin-off

Kurikintonsui manju too!

Kurikinton is sold from early September when chestnuts are in season, and in summer, Kurikintonsui Manju is also available. Kurikinton is wrapped in a transparent dough made by kneading starch, agar, sugar, etc. and water while heating it, giving it a fluffy texture. This is a spin-off of Kurikinton that is eaten chilled. It is sold from June to the end of September.

The inside of Konyudo-kun is chestnut kinton

``Konyudo-kun'' is a popular fresh confectionery from Nakayama Seikaho. Normally, caramel bean paste mixed with white bean paste and caramel extract is wrapped in nerikiri, but in autumn, chestnut kinton is wrapped in nerikiri. You can enjoy the collaboration between the cute Konyudo-kun and Kurikinton for a limited time from early September to early October (early end may occur).

I had Konyuudou-kun made.

We showed them the process of wrapping the chestnut kinton with light blue and white colored nerikiri and attaching the face parts. Please slide and take a look. I experienced it myself, and Konyuudou-kun's face was not shaped properly, and it was sunken in some places, and the light blue nerikiri mixed with the white nerikiri, resulting in a pale, unhealthy-looking Konyuudou-kun. Being able to make cute Konyudo-kun is all about craftsmanship.

Caramel Daifuku is the signature product

Very popular! Caramel Daifuku

Nakayama Seikasho's signature product, which can be eaten all year round, is caramel daifuku, which is made by mixing caramel bean paste with white bean paste and wrapping it in gyuhi rice cake. It was created about 15 years ago, targeting the younger generation. It was popular among the elderly and became a big hit after about 5 years. I love that you can eat it regardless of the season.
