IseJingu Prefecture is famous for Ise Jingu, but SuzukaCity in northern Mie Prefecture is home to TsubakiGrandShrine, which boasts one of the prefecture's most visited shrines.

The main deity enshrined at TsubakiGrandShrine is Sarutahiko Okami.

There are over 2,000 shrines in Japan that enshrine Sarutahiko Okami, but TsubakiGrandShrine is actually the main shrine. In Suzuka and the surrounding area, he is affectionately called "Tsubaki-san."

The main deity is Sarutahiko Okami

Thirty-two gods are enshrined in the main shrine, but the main deity is Sarutahiko Okami.

When Ninigi no Mikoto, the grandson of Amaterasu Omikami, descended to Takachiho in Kyushu on the orders of Amaterasu Omikami, Sarutahiko Omikami guided the group along the way. It is said that.

For this reason, he is called the ``God of guidance'' who guides everything in a good direction.

Your wish will come true⁉️ Kanae Falls

Kanae Falls is located right next to Betsugu Tsubakigishi Shrine.

Although it is a small waterfall, it is considered a power spot among worshipers, and many worshipers gather around it. It seems to be especially popular with women.

Just listening to the sound of water falling from the waterfall is very soothing and cleanses your soul. In fact, it is said that if you set a photo of Kanae Falls on your mobile phone, your wish will come true.

Recommended gourmet food and specialties❓

At the restaurant ``Tsubaki'' on the 1st floor of Tsubaki Kaikan along the approach to the shrine, you can enjoy a variety of set menus including the famous Torimeshi.

*The menu on the photo is the tea soba set meal (1,100 yen including tax)

Torimeshi has a mild seasoning, but it has a lot of ingredients and a strong umami flavor, making it very delicious. The rice was cooked just right!

Another specialty that you must try is `` Tsubaki Kusa Mochi.''

Domestic sticky rice and red beans are used. There are two types: strained bean paste and grained bean paste, and 1 pack of 5 pieces costs 650 yen (tax included).

Tsubaki Kusa Mochi is made by Shunsendo, a Japanese confectionery shop located at the foot of TsubakiGrandShrine.

God of entertainment and management, Dragon God too🐉

TsubakiGrandShrine enshrines various gods, including Sarutahiko Okami, the god of entertainment and management, and the dragon god.

Inside the temple grounds, you can take a break while enjoying sweets and matcha tea in the authentic tea room donated by Konosuke Matsushita.
