What is KameyamaCity Shoboji Sanso Ruins?
It is said that the Seki clan, who ruled this area from the Kamakura period to the Sengoku period, used it as a mountain lodge as well as a fort.
Shoho-ji Temple was originally built as a branch temple of Daitoku-ji Temple in Kyoto, and also served as a villa for the Seki family, but with the invasion of Ise by Oda Nobunaga, earthworks and stone walls were built on it, and it was used as a fort or castle. In January 1981, it was designated as a national historic site.
It is now known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms, but it is also a quiet spot where you can also enjoy the autumn leaves.

When is the best time to see autumn leaves in 2023?
Usually, the trees start to change color in early November and reach their peak in late November.
As the leaves change color all over the grounds of the Shoboji Sanso Ruins, the progress of the leaves changes depending on where the sunlight hits and where it doesn't.
Although the period of sunlight is short, the autumn leaves are rarely burnt and can be enjoyed for a relatively long time.
If the timing is good, you can also enjoy sasanqua flowers together♪
It is also a place where many people spread out their seats and eat their lunch boxes.
*Be sure to take your garbage home with you◎
*The road near the ruins of the Shoboji Sanso is very narrow, and the road leading into the parking lot is too narrow for oncoming vehicles to pass, so please be careful.
*On November 22nd, sunny places will be dyed red, and the best time to see them has already arrived!
