What is Sunday Theater ``Gekokokujo Kyuji''? It is a work that was modeled after a high school in Mie Prefecture!

The book ``Descent of Baseball Players: Mie Prefectural Hakusan High School's Miracle to Koshien'' (Kanzen) is a non-fiction book that chronicles the footsteps of Hakusan High School, which was a weak elementary school that lost in the first round of the prefectural tournament for 10 consecutive years, but participated in Koshien for the first time in the summer of 2018. is the original draft.

The drama is a work of fiction inspired by the book, and is an original story that is different from the book version.

The main character, Nagumo, a high school teacher who coaches Koshiyama High School's baseball team, will be played by Ryohei Suzuki, who will be starring in a Sunday theater for the second time in about two years since ``TOKYO MER~Running Emergency Room~''. Haru Kuroki plays Yamazumi, the baseball-loving manager of a former baseball powerhouse school. Also appearing are Haruka Igawa, Katsuhisa Namase, Rio Asumi, Mizuki Yamashita (Nogizaka46), and Kyon (Cotton).

“Ishiko and Hanao – are you going to sue them for something like that? The story will be written by Sadoko Okudera, with the script written by producer Junko Arai and director Ayuko Tsukahara, who have brought many popular TBS dramas to life, including ``MIU404'' and ``Unnatural.''

These three have worked on the blockbuster drama ``Saiai,'' which won numerous awards, including the 59th Galaxy Awards Television Category Selection and the Tokyo Drama Awards 2022 Best Picture Serial Drama Category Grand Prix, so they can truly be called hit makers.
