The coloring of the maple valley can be done at your own pace.

Mizusawa Momiji Valley is a small valley where you can enjoy the maple leaves from various angles. The autumn leaves along the road are already at their best, but due to the lack of sunlight, the best time to see them in the valley is quite late.

Even within the same valley, there are more red maples on the south side where Jizo-do is located, but on the north side where there are tables and chairs there are still some green leaves, and the gradation is very beautiful now. When I see this color, it reminds me of the color of opal, a gemstone.

Compared to the past, I think the coloring and timing of the maple valley has changed, but if things go well, I predict that the best time to see them will be from the end of this week until around the middle of the year. This self-paced and sometimes whimsical nature is one of the charms of Mizusawa Momiji Valley.

There is a steep incline when descending into the valley from the road on the north side. The ground around the tables and chairs is not paved, so please be careful as it can be slippery if you step on pebbles. We recommend walking in comfortable shoes.

If you enter from the south side where Jizo-do is located, the ground is paved and it is easy to walk. You can walk around the entire area in about 30 minutes.

What about parking and toilets?

◎About parking lot

As you proceed along Prefectural Route 44 toward Momijidani, you will see a parking lot surrounded by a stone wall on your right. This is a parking lot that uses unpaved natural terrain.

The owner of this land has opened it for free to visitors to Momiji Valley. Approximately 20 to 30 cars can be parked.

There is no parking fee, but please donate to the red box provided for the conservation and maintenance of Momiji Valley.

◎About the toilet

There is a public toilet at the north entrance of the valley. There are no convenience stores around Momijidani.

Others

Previously, in Momiji Valley, there was a display of lantern lights at night during the autumn leaves season. Not this year. There is no light up etc. Please be careful!

The temperature drops in the valley, so please wear warm clothes and enjoy maple picking!

There is a spot right next to Momiji Valley where you can see the tea plantations and Ise Bay.

Just a short walk to the left after exiting the parking lot, there is a spot where you can see a beautiful view of the tea fields. On a clear day, you can even see ships floating in Ise Bay. The tea plantation is private property, so please do not go inside.

It may be difficult to imagine the combination of Yokkaichi and tea plantations, but Mie Prefecture is actually the third largest tea producer in Japan. Among them, kabusetea has the highest production volume in Japan! The Mizusawa area of YokkaichiCity is known as the main production area for kabusetea.

It takes about 15 minutes by car from Momiji Valley to TsubakiGrandShrine known as Suzuka's power spot!

Mizusawa Momiji Valley is located at the foot of Mt. Suzuka, so the scenery of the surrounding mountains is very beautiful. Access to the expressway is also very convenient, so we recommend taking a drive to see the surrounding spots.

For example, it takes about 20 minutes by car from Momiji Valley to Aquaignis in KomonoTown, and it takes about 15 minutes to get to TsubakiGrandShrine in Suzuka, which is considered one of Mie Prefecture's best power spots.
