It is said to be about 600 years old, and is a large ginkgo tree with a height of about 37 m, a diameter of about 2 m, a branching distance of about 14 m from east to west, about 17 m from north to south, and a trunk circumference of about 8 m, and has been designated as a natural monument by the prefecture!

The spectacular ginkgo tree, its thick trunk and powerful branches are also a must-see ◎

What is the best time to see ginkgo in 2023 and what to see?

Ginkgo at Soueiji Temple

The trees have been gradually changing color since late November, and are now at their peak.
This year, some leaves have fallen before they change color, so you can see some branches, but the carpet of ginkgo trees on the ground and the maple leaves next to the ginkgo trees are also very beautifully colored.

Whether or not the ginkgo trees change color and the maple leaves next to the ginkgo trees change color at the same time varies from year to year, but right now it's the perfect time to enjoy both!

How was it?

Ginkgo at Soueiji Temple

This time we introduced KameyamaCity 's large ginkgo tree, which stands tall as if quietly watching over the area.

It is a place that enters a residential area and disturbs people, so please remember to be considerate of the neighborhood while enjoying it.

Once the ginkgo leaves turn yellow, they will begin to scatter even with the slightest breeze, so we recommend viewing them early!
