On March 22, 2023, the Tsu Local Meteorological Observatory observed cherry blossoms (Somei Yoshino) blooming. It is said that the flowers will bloom seven days earlier than normal and four days earlier than last year.
This year, cherry blossom festivals are back in various places, and you can not only admire the Somei Yoshino cherry trees in full bloom, but also enjoy the food stalls and events, as well as the fantastically illuminated cherry blossoms at night.

Nabeta River Embankment Cherry Blossom Trees (KisosakiTown)
Approximately 1,500 cherry trees are planted along the Nabeta River, which flows through KisosakiTown, for approximately 4 kilometers.

Cherry blossoms of Jushikawa (YokkaichiCity)
The cherry blossoms of Jushigawa, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in YokkaichiCity. Approximately 600 cherry trees line the banks of the Jushikawa River for approximately 1.2 km. The river is narrow, creating a tunnel of cherry blossoms, making it a perfect spot for a cherry blossom viewing stroll.
When the petals fall, the flower rafts that form on the river are also very atmospheric.
The Jushikawa Cherry Blossom Festival will be held from March 31st (Friday) to April 10th (Monday), 2023.

From Saturday, March 25, 2023 to Sunday, April 9, 2023, night illumination will be held from sunset until 9:30 pm.

Miyagawa Tsutsumi is a row of cherry blossom trees in full bloom stretching for approximately 1km on the riverbed of the Miyagawa River that flows through IseCity.
It has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots, and it is illuminated to coincide with the best time for cherry blossom viewing, allowing you to enjoy the cherry blossoms at night.
The cherry blossoms will be illuminated from Saturday, March 25th to Sunday, April 9th.
