The worldview of masters seen through prints

The ongoing "Sasa Adair Collection Exhibition of Prints by 20th Century Masters - From Chagall, Picasso, Dali to Rockwell" features lithographs (lithography) by famous painters familiar to Japanese people, as well as American prints. Illustrations by Parrish and Rockwell, nationally recognized painters, are on display.

The ``Sasa Adair Collection'' is the collection of Mr. Yoshiyuki Sasa, who was active as a researcher and businessman in the United States, and was named by combining the family names of Mr. Sasa and his wife.

Printmaking is a technique that has been used for magazines and posters since ancient times, and as a result, art has become familiar to many people.

This exhibition will be on display until January 29, 2024 (Monday). Winter is now in full swing, so it's a good idea to take this opportunity to take a leisurely look at artworks in a warm museum.

*Please note that it is not possible to take photos or video of the works at this exhibition.

There are many other things to see besides the special exhibitions.

paramitamuseum has many works on permanent display, including paintings, ceramics, and ceramic sculptures.

In particular, the ``Ceramic Sculpture Heart Sutra Series'' by Masuo Ikeda, a world-famous printmaker, is a masterpiece. The hall's name, "Paramita", comes from Haramita in the Heart Sutra.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, special exhibitions of various genres are held several times a year, and some fans visit regularly.

Not only the works, but also the open space of the building is wonderful. When moving between the first and second floors, we recommend using the slope on the garden side. You can see the nature of the garden, and it feels like you're in a museum somewhere in Europe.

Take a walk in the garden or take a break at the salon

If you feel a little tired after viewing the gardens, you can refresh yourself by walking around the garden.

In fact, works are displayed inside the garden, and this space where art and nature are fused is one of the highlights. It's fun to walk around looking for works of art and seasonal plants.

The salon also has drink vending machines. You can bring your own lunch and eat it here, but please take your trash home with you.

*There are no museum cafes or other restaurants within the museum.

*Please note that in order to protect your precious works, plastic bottles, candy, gum, etc. cannot be consumed outside of the salon.

Opening in the new year from January 2nd (Tuesday)!

paramitamuseum will be open from January 2nd (Tuesday)! It's unusual for the museum to be open during New Year's Day, so you can stop by on your way to and from New Year's visit.

On January 2nd (Tuesday), there will be a ``New Year's Special Project Fun Lottery'' where you can win items from the museum shop, so don't miss it!

Utilizing my experience working at a tourist association in the Hokusei region, I mainly introduce tourism in northern Mie.

I like French art such as Impressionism, so I went to see several exhibitions held at paramitamuseum. This year's ``Exhibition of Prints by 20th Century Masters'' was also very interesting. I don't know anything difficult about art, but I feel like touching art enriches my soul.
We would be happy if everyone could learn that there is a wonderful art museum called paramitamuseum in Komono Town, KomonoTown, and come visit us.
