At the hot spring resort “OdaiTown Forest Pier” in Odai-cho, Taki-gun, Mie Prefecture, surrounded by nature, the “lunch buffet with hot springs” that was very popular before the coronavirus is back!
In the past, the hotel buffet with hot springs, which was held three times a year in February, June, and October, was so popular that it was fully booked and there were lines at the large restaurant even on weekdays.
There must be many fans who have been looking forward to the reopening.
Okuise Forest Pier, which was closed for facility maintenance from January 16th to 25th, 2024, will begin its long-awaited lunch on January 26th.
In this topic, Mie Travel Ambassador Caster Mami, who is well-versed in how to play Okuise Forest Pier, will be presenting the unveiling and tasting of "Oku Ise Forest Pier One-Order Lunch with Hot Spring" to be held from January 26th to February 29th, 2024. I will let you know how I participated in the meeting!

Choose your favorite from 5 main dishes. The basic price is 2,500 yen per person, but there are some main dishes that require an additional charge.

As this is a hotel lunch run by a French restaurant, even if it's a buffet, you'll find a selection of elaborate and attractive Western dishes.
It also comes with all-you-can-eat desserts including several types of cakes, and all-you-can-drink drinks such as juice, coffee, Japanese black tea from OdaiTown, and Odai tea.

A colorful buffet of sweets with a wide variety of varieties including strawberry, chocolate, matcha, and fruit pudding.
Even though I was supposed to be full from all-you-can-eat delicious food, I ended up eating plenty of sweets instead.On this day, I had piping hot zenzai, the only Japanese dish on the menu.
Relax in a natural hot spring
As winter approaches in February, it's nice to have a hot spring.
After filling your stomach with the lunch buffet, let's warm up slowly at Okuise Miyagawa Onsen, a natural hot spring located inside Okuise Forest Pier.
In addition to the open-air bath, there is a large public bath and a herbal bath that changes monthly. Medicinal herbs grown with great care by a local medicinal herb group. In January it's a yuzu bath, and in February it's a turmeric bath. The hot springs do not come with towels, so it is best to purchase them at the reception or bring a set of towels along with a change of clothes.
It is also a good idea to take a walk in the surrounding nature before taking a bath instead of going to the hot spring right away.
The hot spring bathing ticket can also be used at a later date.

Takigashira Fudo Falls
A 30m-high waterfall that spans the Sono River, a tributary of Japan's clearest stream, the Miyagawa River, which also flows through the grounds of Okuise Forest Pier. It is located 3.5 km from Okuise Forest Pier, 15 minutes by car or approximately 1 hour on foot.
It's also good to get some exercise by renting a bicycle. Since the trip is uphill, we recommend renting a sports-type electric bicycle, E-bike.

Somonyama/Hokusomonyama
It would be fun to try mountain climbing before lunch. If you are not confident in your physical strength, we recommend heading to the observatory from Mt. Hokusomon's Healthy Forest Course. The light hiking course, which follows well-maintained wooden paths and beautiful ridge paths, takes about an hour round trip at a leisurely pace.
You can also go to the observation deck by car. It's about a 30 minute journey.

Before the coronavirus, I lined up to eat at Okuise Forest Pier's lychee buffet with hot springs.
The idea is to bring back the ingenuity of the style, where you can choose your favorite main dish such as meat, seafood, or curry, and then go and pick up the rest.
A new head chef with a vegetable sommelier qualification will be appointed in April 2023, and we think the all-you-can-eat menu is perfect for health-conscious people, incorporating many rare vegetables!
