“Mie no Mochi Kaido in Tokyo” will be held on February 17th (Saturday) and 18th (Sunday) at Mie Terrace in Tokyo, with the aim of promoting Mie Prefecture tourism and local products!

The event is packed with highlights, including the sale of Mie's famous mochi and Ise GreenTea, a talk show by a curator about the origin of Mie's Mochi Road and food culture, and a greeting from Mie's support Pokémon, Mijumaru.

What is “Mie no Mochi Kaido”?

Since ancient times, IseJingu has welcomed many travelers who come on the ``Ise pilgrimage'' since the Edo period. It is said that travelers from all over the country who were heading to Ise liked to eat mochi, which was quick and filling, as it was quick and filling.
The Sangu Kaido from Kuwana to Ise is also known as the ``Mochi Kaido,'' and the roads along the route have been popular as food for travelers on their ``Okage Mairi.''

A talk show will be held by Masayuki Ukawa, curator of MieMu (Mie Prefectural Museum), about the origin of "Mochi Kaido" and the food culture of Mie.
Those who participate in the talk show will also receive a free box containing two Akafukumochi mochi!

You will experience kayaking in Ago Bay, which has a beautiful coastline such as Kashishima Island, which was the stage of IseShimaSummit in VR.
