Notes for those doing trail running
Trail running is a sport that involves running on unpaved roads in the mountains and on mountain trails in nature. Unlike running on paved roads, it requires thorough preparation, a variety of knowledge, and etiquette.
① Train to run long distances
Before attempting a trail run, try training on a road run. Unlike road running, climbing and descending consumes more physical strength and muscle strength than you might imagine. Train hard and improve your physical strength and strength.
②Use trail running shoes and carry equipment
Trail running courses are mainly unpaved (off-road) courses such as rocky areas, gravel roads, and muddy roads. Running shoes with flat soles can be slippery and increase the risk of falls. We recommend using trail running shoes to reduce the risk of falling. Also, when trail running, use a backpack just like you would when mountain climbing, and carry the necessary fluids, food, and medical kit such as bandages and taping while running. It is also important to consider the weather and prepare rainwear and cold protection gear.
③ Check the course map before riding
Before going on a trail run, check the route you will be running on the course map. Carry a course map in your equipment. We also recommend using a watch with GPS function or a location information app such as YAMAP.
④Let's follow the rules and manners of the mountain
Many of the courses used for trail running include mountain trails, and there are a variety of people including general mountaineers, hikers, and tourists. When passing each other, be sure to say hello and be as considerate as possible to those walking slowly.
⑤Dangers of activities in nature
Trail running in nature can sometimes come with various dangers, such as the risk of falling, the possibility of getting lost, hypothermia or heat stroke due to weather changes, and encounters with wild animals such as bees and bears. Please be aware of this. When trail running, it is important to enjoy the race and reach the goal, but the most important thing is to return safely.

Tado TadoTaishaShrine is located in KuwanaCity, Mie Prefecture. In Mie Prefecture, it is the second most visited shrine after Ise IseJingu, Futamiokitama-JinjaShirine, and TsubakiGrandShrine. The deity enshrined is Amatsu Hikone no Mikoto, a child of Amaterasu Omikami, the deity enshrined at IseJingu. For this reason, it is deeply connected to IseJingu, and the saying goes, ``If you go to Ise, you should go to visit Otado.
In addition, at TadoTaishaShrine, it is believed that a god resides in Mt. Tado, and prayers have been offered since ancient times for blessings such as rain for farming and safe childbirth. The Hakuba, which is said to have lived here for 1,500 years, plays the role of a messenger who delivers these wishes to the gods. There is also a ``Hakuba legend'' that says that white horses bring happiness, and many worshipers come to pray for happiness for the coming year.
After running Tado, let's visit TadoTaishaShrine to report on our successful run and to express our gratitude!
